Mark started his tournament Catfishing career back in 2002 while learning the ways of the channels cats found in lakes and rivers in SW Ohio.  His buddies call him  “Captain Channel Cat” as channels are Marks strong point.  In 2004,  with the help of a few other Chubby Fish Outdoors founders, started the SW Ohio Catfish Club and ever since has been a competitive angler in over 200 local, regional and national tournaments. He regularly fishes the Cabelas King Kat trail and has fished for catfish in 20 states and presently holds the West Virginia  Blue Catfish State record, 59.74 lbs. In his prior life, Mark worked as a Fly fishing guide and was heavily involved with Trout Unlimited where he built his strong passion for conservation and Catch and Release ethics. He lives on a small farm near Dayton Ohio.

I love chasing big catfish, fishing tournaments and taking friends and family out and putting them on some big catfish. If I'm not spending time with my family and fishing, I enjoy taking veterans out fishing or guiding them on hunts.

Team Hookset is a father and son team from Baltic, OH.  We concentrate on channel and flathead catfish most of the time but do fish Hoover Lake for blues on occasion.  Our love for catfishing has been passed down through several generations from Charles Sr all the way to now Charles V.  we frequently fish tournaments throughout Ohio and surrounding states from March-November, fishing out of our 16 foot Tracker.  We are happy to be a part of the Chubby Fish Outdoors Team and look forward to working with them for several years to come.
